How to use:
Step 1.
- Wash the hair using the Pre-Treatment Clarifying Shampoo and leave on the hair for 10 minutes. This process will maximize the penetration of the treatment into the hair follicle.
- For extremely curly hair, it can be applied for 20 minutes.
- Towel-dry hair to remove excess water.
- Blow-dry hair until 70% dry.
Tips: Do not scrub the scalp while shampooing the hair, this treatment is not a scalp aid treatment.
Step 2.
- Apply a small amount of Silk Treatment to the hair. Start at the ends and work your way up towards the root of the hair while avoiding the scalp. Comb through to distribute evenly.
- Pour approximately 2-3 oz. of Keratin Hair-Straightening Formaldehyde-Free Treatment solution into a bowl. Apply to hair with a brush using 1-inch sections. Comb through every section with a fine comb to ensure that the keratin treatment is evenly distributed. Using this application process will ensure that you are using the effective amount of treatment.
- Repeat until the whole head is complete.
- Wear latex gloves during application.
Tips: Less is more, always start with a small amount like 1.5 ounces, this treatment does not require a lot, however make sure the ends are saturated. Product should not be applied on the scalp, please apply about ¼ away from scalp.
It is normal for this treatment to be thick. Add a couple of drops of the Silk Acai oil in an ounce or 2 of treatment and stir. It smooths the product a bit and adds extra shine.
Step 3.
- Allow hair to absorb solution for 30 minutes.
- Cover the hair with a plastic cap, allowing the treatment to get into damaged cuticles.
- Do not rinse the solution out of the hair.
Step 4.
- Using a blow dryer on low heat, blow dry hair with a paddle brush or wide tooth comb until it is completely dry.
- Using a heat resistant carbon comb, part hair into four and start at the back of the head.
- Using a flat iron at 325-375 for porous hair and 375-410 degrees for resistive, healthy, virgin hair, start at the nape of the neck, taking 1 inch sections.
- Slowly move the iron from roots to ends 3-4 times to seal the keratin into the cuticle.
- Client can wash hair anywhere between 1-8 hours after the treatment. Caucasian hair can wash after 1 hour. For ethnic hair, we recommend waiting 3-5 hours before washing the treatment out.
- Wear hair down. Do not use pins, clips or ponytail holders.
Tips: For color service, we recommend applying this treatment a week after coloring for best results. The use of Silk Treatment during the application of this treatment will aid in preventing color from fading.
After Care Products:
